摘要: In this talk we will review the connection between counting integer points on homogeneous varieties and certain equidistribution problems in homogeneous dynamics. If there is no focusing, one expects that the asymptotic of integer points coincides with the volume asymptotic. We will explain how one might calculate the volume asymptotic and, in some cases, how to determine whether focusing happens or not. We will also discuss some problems that remain to be explored.
